Great Opportunity
Summer of 2006 I had an internship with one of Oregon’s largest radio companies, Entercom Radio. This was a marketing internship so I wasn’t in the booth like I am used to. I learned the other side of radio, promotions. All the knowledge I had before my internship was from my self-determination to make my show the greatest. After this internship, I had a deeper grasp of what it takes to be a successful radio station. This internship opened my eyes, now I am hungry to get back on air and recreate PeeP Dis!
Temporarily Off Air
Due to my graduation, September 06, I no longer am with KBVR. This is due to the university rules; you must be a student at OSU in order to host a show. I am actively looking for another station to call home.
History
In September of 2002, two friends named Joel and Shay moved form the Hip-Hop haven of North Portland to the seemingly square town of Corvallis. Students at a school whose student body was in dire need of some hip-hop, the two set about "dropping science." Oregon State University has a radio station (KBVR) so they immediately started DJing a Hip-Hop show. Instead of playing the more popular underground artists, the show expanded into the local scene. Portland is home to a lot of great music that has little to no chance of getting any radio play, on top of that the underground and upcoming artists are not giving a chance in the NW, Peep Dis made moves to correct that. Playing local and underground artists and having live performances from local heads and poets. The show stayed strong all four years of their schooling and got the attention of larger radio stations in Oregon.
