Nina Simone was one of my favorite musicians as a kid. My mother always played her music in the car on the way to the bus stop in the morning. This was before I got my first tape deck at age 10. My mother didn’t like when I listened to “RAP” with my older brother. After I got that tape player there was no stopping me. However, I appreciate how my mother introduced me to some of the greatest artist of all time. Nina Simone with her beautiful voice will always be one of my personal favorites. She is deeply missed!
